I hate Apple, and all things related.....
But - there are some good deals at the moment on the Iphone 5 and my phone contract is due next month.
Android annoys me now, its just not polished or feels finished.
Nokia/Windows - when ? How much ? no one knows.
I'll be one of those millions that pre ordered. But somehow the New Nokia WP8 Lumia 920 phone is promising

It is, if Microsoft ever pull their finger out of their !#&$ and let people buy it. I don't understand the mentality of a company that's so desperate to claw at mobile market share, yet refuses to even put a date on their flagship effort as the main competition sail in and release a competing product before them.
The *exact* same thing happened with the Zune. It was genuinely a better product than the iPod, but Microsoft made the thing practically impossible to get hold of in the real world - especially in the UK.
The chart shows sales of that generation in blue, and all previous generations combined in white.
So the white bar for 5 is the two bars of the 4s added together and actually reveals nothing at all about the 5's sales so far.
I guess the economy can't be too bad if people can afford to take a week off work to camp out for a new overpriced (think i read apple are selling them for 5x what it costs to make) piece of hardware.
I'm also guessing those that have been purchasing apple stock are iSheep as well and don't really understand how to make money from it and just want bragging rights that they own 1 billionth of apple.

... highlighting that the world is even more full of cretins than previously thought.
And what's with that leader: "one of the more responsible decisions..." What? Responsible? Like falsely claiming prior art and suing companies over a rectangle?
That should read "One of the best ways to make yourself unpopular at uni."
Is anyone surprised? Even a little bit?
Didn't think so.
Seeing it at work as well, use a phone to be on-call, use none of the smartphone features, yet the company must upgrade to iPhone 5 :S
It's just like when non-tech people always want to jump on the latest version of Windows, even when they haven't got a clue what's different.

I have an Iphone 4 and upgrading to Iphone 5, not because I am an Isheep. I don't have any other Apple products besides an old 2nd gen Ipod. The functionality it gives me and security is what i needed for work. The ability to just transfer my data to a new phone effortlessly is also important, rather than spending hours with a new phone inputting all your stuff in again.
Again it goes down to statement that no one phone fits all. Some people fit android better than Iphone or Blackberry. Remember, one man's meat is another man's poison.
It all depends on your needs and to blanket everyone with an Iphone 5 as Isheep smells of jealousy and ignorance. Not everyone who buys an Iphone is a spotty teenager wanting to show off to his/her mates. Some people who buy it also use it for work.

Problem isn't spotty teenagers - problem is that a lot of people who have/will get the iPhone 5 will never even have looked at the alternatives (ffs one person I knew said she was buying it before it'd been announced). That's why the 'sheep' reference - because largely people buy these things blindly and assume it will indeed be the best thing for them (it might well not be).

Perhaps at one time the Iphone was the best thing since sliced bread aka Iphone 4, but of course it no longer is the best phone out there in terms of raw specs, juts looking at the Nokia Lumia 920 for example. I am under no illusion Iphone 5 is not the best out there, but it's the best for my needs. It might be expensive, but so are the other comparable ones of it's class such as samsung Galaxy S3. Buying quality phones are not cheap and people often complain about this.
For those people who are simply buying it because it's new are going to be disappointed. They probably won't use most of the features and get bored after a few weeks of it and start complaining and join the band of Apple haters. When in fact they did not research the products they buy and blame Apple.
So they jump to Android and do the same thing. Endless cycle I'm afraid, something being new doesn't mean it's the best for that person.

Ironically enough, with android it is dead easy. I sign in with my gmail account and all contacts, passwords (WiFi etc) get synced wirelessly, instantly. Apps are all remember as well.
I use drop box for photos and emails, and again within minutes over WiFi I am up and running again. All wirelessly, all stored cloud based abd far more secure then my laptop is!![]()

The likes of apple were very coy in keeping their products sealed up together with iTunes. Once you've settled into bed with it, and are locked in content wise (music etc...) it isn't worth the hassle of loosing the music to swap brands.
The consumers openly loose out, as they are trapped in a very very expensive apple-eco system. Hugely profitable for apple though.
