so sony`s attempt to counter the wii u - is the PS3
athough finally having one withouth a hard drive (ala xbox) IMO is a backwards move
So, new slim is a slimmer version of the old PHAT one.
Not including a HDD is a silly move. Most games will rely on it so they'll have to get one anyway.
As for the pricing.... still far too expensive. It needs to be under £200 to hit a magic price point for many (the cheaper model is under £200, with a straight conversion but will need a HDD purchase as well) and, at this stage of it's lifespan, you'd be expecting it to be around £149.
£149 for the HDD less model and £199 for the other and they'd sell a bucketload.
Knock £50 off the price and I'll buy a second PS3 for the second TV. As it is, it is still little more than the price I paid for the fatty PS3 in 2008.
Wow, still the best part of 300 notes with a HDD in....there was me thinking it was 6 year old tech......

Way too expensive. Is this the silly 'Cell' chip still hampering things?
Looks like something out of Tescos Technica range. I still have my Phat PS3 with a 300GB Hard Drive, everything else all original! Oh and 4 USB ports![]()

class a 7 year old console that can barely scrap 30 fps playing at 720p has a brand new case
They should have took this opportunity to release a next gen console, now that the Wii U has caught up in specification. It would have also given a reason for a lot more people to upgrade who have current gen consoles...

they're gonna make this monkey dance for as long as possible.
if your gunna buy a ps3 or xbox, just build an mini itx or m-atx computer thats using old technology... it can be cheaper.
Least they used glossy plastic this time.. still, the fact Sony has done this suggests they are closing the PS3 chapter for a new console in 1-2 years, or they're desperately trying to make more money per SKU. Still, I think I'll still to PC gaming indefinitely regardless of 'exclusives'![]()
Oh dear, they're doing it again...
Thinner and thinner , just looks weird now...
