Re: News - Shorter .uk internet domain names proposed by Nominet

Seriously? £20/year for a new version of a domain I already own, or risk someone else squatting my well-chosen domain name?

    Thanks nominet, great deal there

Well, you've got .org.uk for organisations, .gov.uk for government, .ac.uk for academic institutions, .co.uk for companies.

And then the USA decided that they were far too important to adhere to that system, so theirs make no sense at all, and now they've basically decided to give up any pretence of control and let you have whatever domain name you want.

    ICANN is the central body.

I would assume that the money from domain names goes towards upkeep of ICANN.
