I don't know about the US, but I'm guessing Samsung couldn't try and ban the iphone 5 in Europe on this patent dispute because its a clear progression of technology - am I right.

I don`t know about the USA but in the UK, most if not all network deploying LTE/4G is contracting samsung to upgrade their network to LTE/4G, so Apple has no chance in the UK but anything could happen in court as they say...

Well whereas the Apple 'patents' are based on style and pretty generic software features, the samsung ones are based on genuine technological developments and hardware. I would have thought (assuming the patents exist) they stand more chance of getting sales bans/licence agreements in Europe/UK where the courts tend to have a more sensible approach with their judgement.

Re: News - Apple's Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 US sales ban overturned

I think PC manufacturers should start suing each other, because all those computers and keyboards look pretty much the same to me.

This is absolutely, utterly disgusting. Even as I type this on my MacPro, which BTW has the WORST keyboard EVER, I am vowing never to buy Apple again. I guess 63% of the market isn't enough for them, so they have to go after their biggest competition.

I'm pretty ashamed to be an American right now...

Sadly, by the time the US courts hear this case the next verion of the iPhone will be out. Still, a victory will be welcome for Sammsung, but they could do some real damage if the courts ruled in their favour in the near future.
