I think, much like a hot water bottle, if you're old enough to know of such a thing, the cover will moderate the temperature.

First thing I think of, how much power is this pulling through the USB port?

Re: News - Japanese Futon USB heated mouse hand warmer released

I can't see there being a market for this other than as a novelty item, or if you work in an outdoor office, but if you're cold enough to need one of these, then surely needing to warm your hands is the least of your problems!

Maybe a Japanese working can enlighten us to their working conditions.

Yeah.. the same power that's also driving fans to cool the components.. can't help but think there should be a more efficient way of transferring heat rather than just burning more power to generate it again. (exhaust ducting?)

Finally. Need something for my rented room. Freezing during winter.. Plus I use aluminium mousepad - don't help at all. Though not much difference from cool wooden desk surface..

Re: News - Japanese Futon USB heated mouse hand warmer released

I am actually interested in buying one of these for a friend whose birthday is coming up. They can seemingly only be ordered from Japan, hm? Will have to get another friend to help me translate he page, or hope that Scan starts carrying this item soon.
