I am waiting to see what Blackberry bring out in the new year.
I was so torn between the Nexus 4 (because it's cheap) and one of the WP8 devices that I decided to hold off and spend the cash on a Surface instead. I'm thinking my next device will be WP, just not sure it'll be this gen.
Last 2 phones have been Android (desire and currently a sensation). I think next time I'll be changing to WP8. Don't know what model or make yet. It will depend on what's available when my contract is up. whatever happens it won't be iOS
I liked the size of 8x but for the fact how much battery gets drained in standby.
I'll be getting a windows 8 phone.
Currently got hd7 with 7.5, had an hd2 with 7 on it before that (loved my hd2, shame it broke).
Probably going to get nokia 920, as the screen looks great and nokia drive is a great free sat nav to have.
It seems microsoft are promoting wp8 alot more than they did with wp7.
I do hope it succeeds, it just needs more applications.
I think they need to show how well it can integrate with othe microsoft products.

I'm quite tied into the Google ecosystem with my apps account so platform change is not on my radar. I like Android but I find the overlays like Sense and Touchwiz kill the RAM. A 2GB Nexus was the ideal thing at the price the Nexus 4 is perfect. WP8 does look good though, I would advise friends to include the handsets on their shortlist.

Really impressed with Windows Phone 7.5 on my wife's Lumia 800, I am finding it a much more accessible OS than Android is, although I know that my SGS2 on 4.0 can do more. WP7.5 however feels alot smoother and more polished - am very keen to see how the 'project butter' affects my experience, as Android really needs alot more polish.
I'd consider a Windows phone next September, will certainly see what the market has at that time.
I was also very curious following this review at pocket lint:

about the Lumia 820 - sounds like a better device than the 920, which alot of reviews make the 920 sound like a they have tried to do much, and is not great value. (This also sits well with my view on buying most mid-range devices, be it cars, graphics cards, whatever - best value).

On an HTC Desire (yes, the 3 year old one) at the moment. Happy with it. With Giff Gaff.
Looked at HTC 8X and Nokia 920 yesterday in town. Was impressed. Out of the two, would probably go for the HTC because of the sheer monolith scale of the 920 (actually, speaking of Monolith, I wish someone would remake Shogo MAD and Blood 2 on Steam. But I digress).
BUt then I looked at the price of sim free handsets.
So... maybe stick with my Desire until it dies.

I doubt it would ever be as slick as on Android, I love how I'm just signed into everything I use and it just works. Perhaps if you use Microsoft services the same effect can be achieved, but MS don't offer anything like the free Google Apps account.
The industrial design might be nice but for me the 920 is pushing size/weight limits, I ruled out the Galaxy Note II on that basis as well despite the attractive features. The 820/8X might be better but when it comes down to it the insides, the OS and the screen are what makes it work well or not, a boring black monolith is fine with me! The Nexus 4 is actually quite shiny but the glass back I count as a minus after seeing what happened to everyone's iPhones!
Having used WP for the last 2 years, its an easy yes.
iOS, I mean its a good enough platform, but its direction, or lack of momentum is a good reason not to invest. It's disjoint and lacks continuity, common phone like scenarios are longwinded.
I really do like the SIII thou, the voice recognition thing is top notch, much better than Siri or Tell Me (Microsoft's!), however the apps for it are like panning for gold, in a cesspit.

Also if you're an Outlook user on desktop you will have issues syncing with a WP.
I am not sure it is worth being an early adopter sometimes.
I quite like the idea of Windows 8 on a phone. However it will add to the overall cost of the handset.
I'd like a Windows 8 phone - but my budget will probably dictate another android. (Which isn't exactly a bad thing, no)
I just got an Android phone, so whether I like it or not, I'll be sticking to this platform for at least the next 2 years.. if not 3+ (I held on to the iPhone 2G for 5 - says how much I care about having the latest, shiniest phone). By then, I should be able to tell if the Windows Mobile platform is something viable, or something that has no developer support. I am not too worried about the hardware, there should be little stopping Samsung/Nokia/etc. to come up with something pretty great on any platform. But the software side matters just as much to me (and right now, I am still giving the nod to the iOS).
As a current WP7 user with a Dell Venue Pro, I can safely say yes I will upgrade to WP8.
However, not until there's a WP8 device with a QWERTY keyboard. Absolutely love the hardware QWERTY on my DVP, and after Dell fixed the firmware bugs, I've never been able to fault it!
I've looked over Android on my wife's Galaxy S3, excellent phone but I just can't get on with the OS, feels to much like I have to manage and configure everything and just too much work lol.
Never had an interest in getting an iPhone as I'm not willing to spend ridiculous amounts on something that's so locked down and that over-priced, and after all the lawsuits, I just won't buy an Apple product based on my morale's!
Already upgraded my PCs to Windows 8, waiting for the Surface Pro to be released and just waiting for a QWERTY WP8 device to be announced. Helps that I use all MS products though, Hotmail for personal emails, xbox for gaming, Exchange at work, everything just integrates nicely.
What??
You do realise that
1) You cant get Windows 8 on a phone (at least to my knowledge, please provide a link if i'm wrong)
2) Windows 8 is different to Windows Phone 8 (that might be obvious to you, maybe you were being brief)
3) You dont buy Windows Phone 8 and stick it on a phone, and so in that sense it wont 'add to the cost' any more than any mobile OS adds to the cost (again, please provide a link if i'm wrong). Yes, Android is free, but the time spent getting it running for Samsung, Asus, LG etc al (labour costs etc) plus tailoring it (Touchwiz etc) makes this negligable, or close to very little.
4) The budget for us as consumers is broadly comparable across Android and WinPhone devices, although Android has many, many more handset choices:
