The Wii U.
We've played around with it quite a bit. The games are average, but remember it's a handheld, a console and a tablet. The tablet part is very usable, strong and very light.
The internet browser was the biggest surprise - shockingly capable and fastest I've used to date. For YouTube, social networking, general browsing it's ideal.
When the homebrew arrives it will give XBMC a run for it's money!

We all to often ignore products that promote good health. The simple fact of the matter is this single product has done more to promote healthy enjoyment than any other, by a wide margin.

Windows 8.
if you asked me just two months ago,I would have said everything but.
windows 8 works a lot better than 7; even the much hated Metro is working well ;and if one does not like it, don't have to use it...there are a lot of tools that makes it go away and boot straight to desktop.Hell, even my F@h client works better now.I really hate to say it but I feel it's due: GOOD JOB MICROSOFT !
Samsung Note 2 - simply beautiful and powerful
I think that the Intel Ivy Bridge platform is the best product that I have purchased, but for innovation, I have to say it is a toss up between the Raspberry Pi, Windows8 and the Nexus7 for the most innovative product that has come out this year.
(It has been a good year for innovation, hasn't it?)
Personally it's been HD 7970 for me, from Asus the Direct CU II, it's insanely fast, and AMD have been strong on the driver optimization so it feels like the card has been a giving present ever since I got it, it's only been heavily CPU dependent games like Planetside 2 that's made me feel like my PC needs an upgrade, which will be an FX-8350 in the near future.
You forgot to mention the beefed up SP120 fans that come with it, upgraded tubing, upgraded and sleeker looking pump(new light that you can change the colour of with corsair link, silent operation), all of that and it is nearly 6c cooler than its predecessor under OCed load. It is nearly the same temps you would achieve from a custom water-cooling setup. So your overview of the differences was missing quite a lot info there.
Probably Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 - never thought I would use it even a fraction of what I do.

I just thought of something. It's not really a tech product, and it didn't come out in 2012, but I only started using it in 2012 and it changed a lot for me.
I'm talking about Kickstarter. The idea of helping others achieve their dreams, helping them bring out products that I would like to see, is very empowering. So if there's anything which made this year special it's my involvement in Kickstarter projects since the Double Fine Adventure.
Thanks. I haven't bought 8 yet, but I'm thinking about it, and it's good to read positive recommendations about it.
