Why is Stephen Fry promoting an Android app, when it's well known he is a huge Apple fan?

Because they're not mutually exclusive. It is possible to like Apple products without conversely having to hate Android products.

I don't think swift key 4 does Japanese input at all as far as I can tell Even just being able to enter kana would be an improvement.

I don't like their policy of separate apps (and purchases) for phone and tablet.

I use swift key as well and I must say I like it a lot. Was kinda sceptical at first but its great once you get into it.

You can use the phone one on a tablet without an issue. The tablet version is just more optimised and has more features aimed at them.

Given that upgrades are free between versions (3 to 4 was a big jump), I suppose they have to make up that dev time somewhere.
