I honestly can't understand why they didn't just do this on release.

I`d like to think it was do with with them not wanting to ruin the aesthetics of the imac but I have a feeling its more for the fact that by not having it as standard they can charge extra for something we all take for granted.

Gotta laugh, all the comments are already anti-Apple! Come on where is somebody saying how great this is?

So not only do you have to pay more, you don't get the original stand so if/when you come to sell the machine on, you're screwed. Nice, Apple.

Hiding from the embarrassment that Apple only just got around to it now, and have the nerve to withhold the stand if you go for it.

Re: News - Apple iMac updated with VESA compatible wall mounted models

I am baffled by the fact that they actually made it a separate SKU.

I think it would have been better to make one version, with a detachable desktop stand that uses the VESA mount. But I guess that would have been too PC.

    Sane modular engineering is unhip.
