I hate 'exclusivity' - it just stifles competition.

Vodafone do a 32gb version, you also get 7gig cloud storage, also not like it stopped the iPhone and Nexus 4.

Re: News - Nokia unveils flagship aluminium Lumia 925 in London

Is this just trying to produce the 920 for a lower price? Worse screen potentially? (the 920 has a great IPS panel with a polariser that gives it OK blacks, AMOLED will do great blacks and saturated everything else I fear).

They've not brought the flash from the 928, not that it's very useful, tbh the 920 takes such good long exposures, you'd probably get a better shot in most circumstances with no flash, but it doesn't sound like an upgrade on the 925.

They've got rid of the wireless charging unless you take it to fugly town.

However the price point is lower, if they are trying to sell this side by side with the HTC One or Samsung S4, maybe they might have a chance.

The 925 does have the polariser, hence the CBD branding. The low light on the 925 has been improved. (http://mynokiablog.com/2013/05/14/low-light-nokia-lumia-925-even-better-than-nokia-lumia-920-obliterates-samsung-galaxy-s4/)

I think the big difference is that some people complained the 920 was "obese" so this is a lighter version to better compete with lighter phones.

It might be similar to tick tock strategy, with the more pioneering stuff being released at Nokia world, and then the re-tooled and tweaked released now.

Re: News - Nokia unveils flagship aluminium Lumia 925 in London

Polarising isn't really needed by AMOLED in the same way thou, my point was they used it to 'cover up' the lack of deep blacks, AMOLEDs of course don't need such fudging.

Interesting to see they have actually refined the camera more. I think you are right about the whole anorexia thing.

But I still think Nokia's problem is one that people aren't out there knowing what it is like, a salesman didn't realise that they had the offline maps and drive app by default and free for most of the world. Couldn't believe you can find ATMs/Petrol/Bars in the middle of nowhere Vietnam, with no data connection, I ended up showing him because he refused to believe it. I think Nokia pissed off the channel big time!

See my other post - the channel in the UK hates Nokia with a passion. I've not got down to the bottom of it, but they are referred to as awkward and hard to deal with and take their time fixing problems by my mates in the trade

Loving the style of these phones, build quality certainly looks great. I'm still struggling with WP though, whenever I play with it I find myself liking it at first then when I ask how you do certain things that I'm used to doing, I struggle to bend my mind round it. Guess I like what i know and I know what I like

I'm hoping I haven't got it completely wrong - six months after the last flagship phone there is another from Nokia?
