Searching around for specs and I can't see anything about it having an RS232? Is it April again or is my Google Fu not up to scratch?

[QUOTE=silent;1834... it will only be me sitting in front of it and possibly my missus when booking holidays etc... [/QUOTE]

I was thinking more about people sitting opposite you. Something this size would be like a privacy screen.

IPS is what you want for high end video and photo editing.

There must be drawbacks for a 34" IPS screen at that price. Serious drawbacks. Surely?

    why?

surely my R9 280X 3 gig card could play games on this, couldn't it?

    yeah it would no problem

Bizarre aspect ratio if you ask me. No good for gaming surely? Not bad for productivity if you have loads of different windows open I guess.

Absolutely awesome for gaming, apart from the few older games that won't support it. More peripheral vision is always good IMO.

Check out the review for the LG equivlent of this monitor for an idea of how good/bad the aspect ratio is... I really want one.

It's an AOC I suppose. Reviews for their stuff seem below average for a lot of their stuff.

Wonder if it's the same panel as the LG?

    I really like it.
Please test and comment on 2x3W integrated speakers when you do as I'd rather use those then buy external speakers re: space and placement. Headphones for gamine, internal speakers for audio/video.
As long as better then my Asus G73 laptop speakers they'll do nicely.

    Bloody whipper snappers!

It isn't mentioned on their page http://www.aoc-europe.com/no_cache/e...ml?showUid=362 and can't think what they would use the serial data for, so I'm guessing it's a typo.
