Still happy with the GTX690. Plays everything perfectly for me.
Still happy with the GTX690. Plays everything perfectly for me.
I'll wait for 20nm and likely for what AMD will come with.
will be replacing my aging radeon 5870 with a msi twin frozr V gtx 980 to finally be able to play all my games on my 2560x1600 30 incher without running them in lower details or non native resolution
Current PC is x58 gulftown i7-980x + radeon 5870 + 24GB triple channel 2133 DDR3 RAM
only upgrading the gpu even with x99 there is still not enough value to upgrade mobo and cpu and ram thats like flushing cash down the toilet. Broadwell-E doesn't look too promising either. Now skylake-E with pci-e 4.0 will most likely be CPU upgrade time.
It does suck not having sata III or usb 3.0 but i can deal with it a couple more years.

Got a Gigabyte 970 arriving today... it's not much of an upgrade from my r9 290 but it's sure gonna be a lot quieter and cooler. Hopefully it'll push 1400 without too much trouble which pretty much puts it on par with a 980. I only run at 1080p but I really hate fps drops in games, and this beast should keep a stable 60 on almost anything I can throw at it.
I was tempted to wait a bit longer for 20nm but there's always something new and better just round the corner.
As my GTX 470 is really showing its age now (especially the bearings on the fans) i really need a new gpu, but these are not the huge improvement I hoped they would be, so i will probably buy the 970 and wait until the 20nm high end chips are available.
I obviously wouldn't say no if I happened to win one in a competition, but failing that I expect I will be fine for the next few years with the R9 270 I bought a few months ago.
I'll wait till Pascal arrives. My 670 is just fine still.

Waiting a little longer for news of a 980 Ti, then I'll wait to see how it compares to a 780 Ti before deciding which to go for.
In the meantime I'll start putting money aside for a 1440p or 4k monitor so I can get the full benefit of upgrading
I have a phantom gtx 770 2gb.No need for upgrading right now.
I would get a GTX 970 if three conditions could be met:
- I'd be able to sell on my GTX 670 for a remotely decent price.
- I'd be able to get the stock version as pictured above (nVidia cooler). I've never been taken by the custom coolers. They may (seem to) cool better, but they do this by dumping the heat in the case.
- I'd be able to get the card at the official price (or lower) and not with the about £50 markup it's listed for around here.
I was going to, but I think I'm going to wait for the process drop. I want to see what happens when they move from 28nm to a new process.
Still running 2 x 5870 so waiting to see what 20nm and freesync brings along with requirements for the Oculus rift as want to be able to run that without dropping quality settings at all. The 970 looks to be fantastic value though!
yup, i'll go for GTX970 4GB
now i have GTX670 2GB
this upgrade will be for GTA V PC
Not enough to kick my 7950 out just yet.
No games are giving me problems so why both, if the oculus consumer unit ever appears I will look again.
With any luck I'll soon be picking up a second hand card from someone who will buy one if these. I just don't have the income for these kinds of cards. Also, does anyone have any suggestions on where to look for people selling that stuff? Apart from the classifieds here. Thanks.
