I wonder how much this will cost and how it compares to the LG one.

    This isn't a gaming monitor, don't expect G-Sync

For the price of it I would expect the kitchen sink.

I quite like the idea of a curved monitor - I didn't know they were available. Whether or not it ends up making any difference is hard to know. I'd have to see one in a store physically to get a proper idea.

curved tvs / monitors imo are a gimmick. doesnt provide any benefits over flat screens

I doubt the curvature makes a lot of difference when it comes to view distance, after all the edges are only about two inches closer to the user than with a flat screen of the same size, a lot less than a typical triple-monitor setup. On the other hand, might the difference in the angle at which the user sees the panel affect perceived colour and brightness?

For an ultrawide 34" display that will sit a couple of feet in front of your face, I suspect the claims of added comfort have some ground. I have a 29" ultrawide and even on this, I can picture a gentle curve actually being helpful. I don't think its something that's necessary, but its certainly something I would be willing to give the benefit of the doubt too and trying before I rule it as pointless.

A 50-60" television that sits on the other side of the room on the other hand... na I don't get that!

i`m sure that if there was anything in it artists would have been doing it for the last few hundred years- ever been to the tate and seen a curved painting? no.

Excellent, two conflicting opinions in the previous two posts.

True, but using a curved surface worked out well for photographers like Muybridge and artists that wanted to animate their work using a Zoetrope.

I think I can see what you mean, I've been playing a lot of BF4 and think that for gaming having the sides curved around me means that I would get a more natural sense of peripheral vision.
