    that i7 with 2.5" drive support is gonna be one sexy htpc. Put in a 512GB m2 drive for OS and apps and games and a nice 2TB 2.5" drive for video.

    I'm quite interested in the i5, minus drive slot. Could be a good replacement for my ageing MSI Windbox DC100.

    Depends if the price is right

    You're not going to get a lot of big games needing a 512GB SSD capable of running 1080p on an Iris Pro. But it is a nice wee machine, indeed.

    According to the i5 version product brief, and the i7 version is unlikely to be any different, this wont be possible.
    And the system has room for either a 2.5" HDD so you can store full length movies or an M.2 SSD so you can transfer data at lightning speeds.
    The current NUCs are the same, you either put a mSATA SSD or a 2.5" HDD or SSD but not both.

    @BobF64
    You can and I have been doing so for almost a year now.
    Just get the pcie adaptor and voila: a bootable drive in fact

    Re: Intel unveils its first Broadwell Core i7 powered NUC product

    all it lacks is some kind of PCI-ex3 bridge port (thunderbolt on steroids) to allow an external GPU enclosure and it would be something truly special

    All new models include wireless "for free" --- nice

    a TV tuner replaceable lid sound interesting have they done that on any of the previous versions and would it be backwards compatible with older models?

    I liked this page on facebook.. it's got an AMD logo.. ROFL.

    These units are slick.. I run my 3rd gen i3 as a development webserver, can't wait to upgrade it to 5th gen i5/i7.
