These are decent enough bundles, but you can't help worrying that it's an effort to shift old stock before they launch the new X1-powered Shield tablet...

But then there's always something better coming just around the corner!

Yep, there was a rash of "Shield X1 Tablet due in March (17-20)" stories out last month, but so far most folks like AP etc are saying that July is a lot more likely for "Tablet 2". That said, like you, I'm thinking that these latest deals are shelf-clearing before the new gear hits. Either that or they want to boost the end-FY figures.

Luckily, I just had a road-tax demand and another large bill, so I'm flat broke again - which means no funds to get a new gadget.

Re: Nvidia launches SHIELD Tablet bundle offers in the UK

I've been on the market for one of these since the original 5" controller model launched. Still too expensive for my tastes though. Hopefully they'll drop more once the new model comes out.

Edit: Just checked out price of second hand older 5" controller models and they cost more than a new 16Gb tablet (£250 vs £230). Gosh they hold their price don't they...

I would love to know how many Shields they sold so far - be interesting to see if this has taken off.
