They really need to bring this to laptops and 24/27/32 inch monitors and 40" up TV's....

The technology was developed for laptops some time back, it has been done. Might have been a layer on the front, can't remember, never was that interested in laptops.

One really had to admire how capable OLEDs are with black levels, but while I've seen their response times being reasonable, can't say I've seen anything gaming grade.

And yes, very much waiting to see OLEDs in 24-34" and 1080p-2160p. Hopefully we'll get such before those little mobile thingies get 8K, 200% gamut, Dolby Vision and negative response times that makes screens predict what's going to happen before it actually does.

The same used to be true of IPS monitors, thankfully that's slowly changing. It's still very much early days for OLED technology.

I haven't heard of people complaining that their phone OLED displays are slow. I would have thought some uptake in laptops would be next.

Or the original Vita, which had a nicer screen than newer, cheaper, LCD-based models

the screen maybe 1mm thick but I bet theres a big massive box that connects to it hiding somewhere for all the connectors and powersupply
