Saracen, you mirror my thoughts sometimes. I'm with you, man. All that stuff..

You're right though, you can't keep worrying about all the stuff you can't control because it'll just drive you crazy. Do what you can and don't stop resisting

The people who like to say "Tonfoil hat blah blah blah" etc just can't handle the truth. It screws with their life too much. They don't want to think about it. They're like that guy in the Matrix who asked to be plugged back in and made to forget it all, who just wanted to be rich and ignorant because he couldn't handle it. I know people will be grinning while reading this, as I am writing it lol... But I do mean it. Truth

Now that is where we differ. If they are going to collect my data, I will sell it to the highest bidder, and I will make them pay

Tesco clubcard points just got me a Hudl 2, Dyson V6 Animal vacuum cleaner, and for my daughter a Moto E. That is probably the price of a year's worth of data collection from which I am not personally seeing much downside (the junk mail is usually some handy coupons).

And I have no objection, even in principle, to that. It's a very individual choice. Personally, I don't want ANY junkmail. No exceptions. I don't care what the offer is, I'm not interested. Nor do I want marketing phone calls, again with NO exceptions. If the trade-off is Hudl's, metc .... not interested. If it's a new car, or luxury holiday, still not interested.

If I could wave a magic wand and have the world (in this regard) comfirm to MY personal ideal, it would simply be that we can each choose. If you're prepared to sell your data for a price, explicit or implicit, then you should be able to, and clearly, to decide what that price is.

What really annoys (and that's the polite term for it) me though, is that companies like Google, and it seems MS now too, are determined to grab whatever data they can, whether we like it or not, and for THAT, I honestly hope that if there's a hell, those scumbags rot in it, and the sooner they do, the better.

If you wish to trade, fair enough. I do not, and will not, ever wish to do so for any price that is remotely in the realms of the realistic.

lol! The apple pies are more me

My credit card, one of the many data mining devices of modern life, is with Tesco. I can't imagine Tesco reselling my purchase history as it it part of their competitive advantage to keep that information to themselves so I expect that keeps the data nicely contained at one place. Tesco get to see how much I spend at other shops, and for that I get a ton of clubcard points which I use on their "clubcard boost" sales to get the best value.

I pity the fool ...well, all 75 million of them, actually.

BTW, does it count as an install if you run the Insider Preview in a VM? *Looks in mirror and blushes with shame*

I'm sure it does, in the same way that pulling an old Dell off the scrap pile at work and upgrading that to have a play counts as an install.

Providing W10 as a service platform and free upgrade for existing users is one of the brilliant move. Seems Microsoft is happier .

Rubbish. Win 10 is great. Had Windows since 3.1

I like Win 10 and it works flawlessly on my PC.
