Interestingly this seems to have fixed the thing where the driver install would mess up my desktop icons. Granted it's a fairly minor thing but still, nice touch!

With Catalyst drivers he was "CatalystMaker", now the drivers are "Crimson", I'd kind of suggest that "King Crimson" would seem appropriate.

Got my update to Crimson this morning - not impressed, drivers are fine in themselves but I had to reboot ... what the heck, if I wanted to reboot after every driver update I would have bought a Geforce card!

Maybe it's the new software which wants a reboot rather than the driver update? I could be wrong but I seem to remember the first install of CCC after a format needing a reboot?

is there any good benchmarks of the performance increase, mostly interested in the 290x but of course a 390x is more or less the same.
