I know I'm becoming a bit obsessive about phone size but the XA is even slimmer than my Nexus 5 which should make very comfortable to grip. Shame it's the runt of the family.

I completely disagree. My only niggle about the Nexus 6P is that it's so thin that it makes it difficult to pick up from a flat surface and I'm petrified that I'll drop it one day. The Note5 has a similarly slim frame, but has a slight curve to the back which helps in this regard.Quote:

Wasn't really commenting on the surface finish (completely agree with you on that point gav) just the physical width. The Nexus 5 sits great into my (relatively small) hands, that's 69.2mm wide. This is 66.8mm wide, which would feel even less bulky to hold, while still giving the (optimal) IMHO screen size of 5"
The Galaxy S7 is 69.8mm wide with a 5.1" screen so Samsung has done a great job too, it also has radius edges to the back to aid comfort in the hand.
I'd have to add a skin to it to give me back a faux leather / rubberised finish on the back but you know there will be tons of options for this with the S7

According to the Xperia Blog the Sony Z Series is dead. There won't be any Z6 range.
