Wish they would make their monitors with support for both freesynch and gsynch in one, and just starting to call it the industrial standard, it is a bit silly to have two paths.

"Unlike the PG279Q with its TN panel display" <- might want to check that
Slightly off-topic but can anyone ID that game in the lower screenshot?
gonna be a good 10 years before there are GPUs that manage 144fps at 4K...
4k@144hz +gsync +IPS is my dream monitor if the response times are good as well.
Pretty much the same as most I'd wager.
We all moved to 1080p relatively quickly (I was a hipster with 1920x1200, still going strong). 4k, ips, 144hz and free/g-sync ticks an awful lot of boxes for a new "standard" to move to. I'd think if AMD drops a decent card, NVidia MIGHT consider dropping their proprietary version and go with open sync, AMD would soon follow suit and we have something we can all rally around going forwards.
IPS is too flawed for me to get too excited about. It's been the best compromise so far, but issues with glow, blur and luminance range remain. OLED is badly needed (it's here, just too big/expensive for me at the moment) and if we get that we'll never want to go back to normal dynamic range.
