    Typically I spend about £200-250 on graphics cards every 3 years or so. This is good news

    If you have a good overclocker 980Ti the only thing that makes sense (if you're gaming at 1440p+) is to get another one right now.

    If you're happy with one at the moment then it wouldn't make sense to get another. The 1070 is faster and will come down in price to the same as a 980ti before very long at all, so little point getting a 980ti. If you're not happy with one, then waiting for big pascal/vega next year is probably a better option.

    But there is the possibility you were happy with one before, but now aren't, and can't wait until next year. In which case I agree with you
