This will be my first Samsung phone as HTC just don't aren't doing it for me anymore. I am willing to trust they have learnt a lot from the 7 series catastrophe, and I look forward to using Gear VR with it too.

Still rocking a Note 3 here as I went self employed a year ago so have gone from having cash to not at all. If I can get some traction for my business, I'm interested in this.

Well, I suppose anything that is safer is, by any definition, better than what came before!

"I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8," Koh told the CNet reporters "and I will make Apple pay for that device. And they will pay, believe me."

"This time it's safe because we built a protective screen around it to keep the flames out of our pants pockets. Let's call it a "firewall". That sounds kind of techie... oh and we got rid of that healthcare app from the front page... we don't want everyone to have access to that."

They should make their ad campaign slogan "Making Samsung great again..."

Free bloatware too and they are nice enough to take up all your ram and not even allow you to disable or uninstall it. Yay for Samsung!! Never again.

Re: "A better, safer, and very innovative Note8" is on the way

Had a Note 4. And whilst it was a splendid device after 2 years is started getting lazy. Taking ages to interact with the OS, ages to load apps, hanging apps and simple basics like making a phone call took ages and became a chore. I don't understand how a quad core 2.4GHz monster simply ends up chugging. It's not as if did anything different, as I hadn't loaded a bunch of crap on it.

    Don't use it anymore.

Now I've been using a Google Pixel XL and is it the fastest device I've ever used. Buttery smooth, fast and responsive. Can't recommend it enough. And it doesn't come with all the preinstalled bloatware rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish that Samsung put on their devices.
