Good, it's time XP stops being used (as great as it was, it's now a hackers paradise). Vista was ok in the end with the right hardware added, but a minimum of 7 should be where it's at

Depends on what it's used for. In an online environment, including online gaming, I agree, but I have several machines running XP because it supports necessary legacy hardware or software, and believe me, those machines aren't getting hacked. Or upgraded.

It was nice while it lasted but makes no sense supporting 5 Windows OS's.

Also agreed, but not everything needs ongoing support .... like my legacy systems, which work on a "as it ain't broke, don't fix it" basis. I'm NOT suggesting this as a policy for everybody - simply that the blanket assertion that XP is no longer useful and 'all' systems need to be W7 or later.

This not about PCs that are not online and not used for gaming.
I agree with the others, it is time for XP and Vista users, where possible, to move on, especially if those PCs are used online.

Definitely, I still work and roll out XP/PR2009 en mass. As long as the infrastructure and environments are secure the OS is more than capable for our needs. I secretly prefer XP for tuning, it's lovely and lightweight. For gaming it is lacking the required performance of new hardware and I'd prefer game developers concentrate on a better game than wide OS support (of course that's wishful thinking based on a lot of tripe out there)
Re: Blizzard Entertainment ending support for Windows XP, Vista
I use XP in an OracleVM environment now so I can easily transfer files to my Atari ST external hard drive SD card, the driver to make the system recognise it as a multi partition external drive only works on XP.
XP now is a tool, alongside the VM I use a lot of old programs that work better on it for my retro computers, CBM Command works better on XP (until I actually get a zoom floppy) for writing discs with a parallel cable direct to my old Vic disc drive.
Ideal world would be newer versions of these programs but they don't appear to be updating the all that fast

Wow I am surprised that any company was still supporting those operating systems; especially Windows XP. Good for Blizzard!
