Re: Nintendo Switch gets iFixit teardown treatment

How we've gone backwards in game save terms from the memory cards that we all used with the original Playstation is a tough one to comprehend. We used to be able to share, archive, manage and wipe our save files easily (yes, the storage space was limited but cards were cheap enough). I used to run two at a time and back everything up across them. Yet now, it's locked down, tied to an account and easy to lose. That's one thing with a quick casual game, but losing 200+ hours of an RPG or an unlock from a Platinum completion on ultra-hard could be pretty galling!

I love how repairable it is. Also, the fact that the eMMC is on a separate PCB is fantastic. Brick your console? Pull your storage out and transfer it. New version launched with more storage? Wait a while, and get just the eMMC board for cheap online. Of course, actually (near)final software would be great too ..
