... it is explained to 'whiners' that El Chapuzas hasn't signed any NDA with AMD ...
Got to wonder where they got their pre-release processor from then....

Shops in certain countries are apparently selling them already.

That's ... concerning. Presumably those retailers had contracts with AMD including NDAs, emabrgoes and permitted release dates ... seems odd that they'd risk defaulting on those; AMD must have some kind of legal comeback, I'd've thought...

Depends on how word of mouth coming from this is. I'm fairly certain that AMD will be pretty lenient if the early "reviews" are favourable. Which they seem to be.

Not much they can do if a small shop decides to sell the hardware to their mate early!! They could have a go at a distributor and penalise them but if it is the main distributor for the whole country, then it might not be worth it.

I keep hearing about these legendary "i5-6700K"s and wondering where they come from!

Looking at some comments elsewhere it seems they inserted their launch 1700X numbers into the review.

im stumped on why a 6 core still cant beat a quad core. and the 8 cores are still having issues beating the i7 quads. goes to show, intel had their hand in a lot of these programs and benchmarks.

Intel has higher IPC performance. But you can't look at it like that anymore. You have to view the overall performance per quid/dollar spent. If you have a program that benefits from more cores, and you can get a 16 thread CPU for the price of an 8 thread CPU, you're gonna go for the higher performing one overall.

Also, the more dense a CPU is the slower the speed, generally speaking. As for those gaming benchmarks, most the numbers are inconsequential, there's very little difference, I dunno what the price of this thing will be but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around the same as an i5-6600K

The benchmarks should go up against what the competitor in price is, not the spec sheet. I'm just wondering on the price of the 4c/8t chips, from the way things are going they're gonna look like a beautiful alternative to settling for an i3
