Yes a 35gb update on top of a 70GB game is what everyone wants. Cheers guys, it's gonna take days to download this.

I was wondering what the hell it has been downloading for the last 20 hours, so it's basically just online multiplayer stuff I couldn't care less about.

35GB is I think all of my free SSD space gone, so I will have to uninstall something, and like you if it is just multiplayer stuff then I don't care

Yes, the insistence of installing GBs of MP content is making think of uninstalling Doom, which is a shame as I haven't completed the campaign yet and I am starting to doubt I will buy any future Doom products because of this BS

I already uninstalled it ages ago - 70GB is ridiculous for a shortish FPS game.

There are open world games like The Witcher 3 which are smaller.

You're unlikely to buy any future Doom games as they've supported this one with too much free content months/years after release?

Free content I don't want that is consuming huge amounts of expensive SSD space.

    [RANT ON]

Maybe Bethesda can get off their backside and probably do something about making Fallout 4 actually run better??? Maybe actually finish the multi-threading options they have left disabled in the game and at the same time perhaps actually at least try and get Ryzen working a bit better on it?? Its a joke when even a 5GHZ Core i7 7700K gets dips in settlements since the engine is limited by one or two cores.

Its nice Doom has all this funky stuff like Vulkan in it,but it is the Bethesda open world games which really need the work done to them, and these are the games they make which people keep playing.

    Edit!!

They are more worried about monetising community mods with the Creation Club(which probably means the end of Nexus Mods longterm),than fixing the terrible CPU usage of their open world games.

    [RANT OFF]

Apart from that making the DLC free I suppose is a nice gesture.

    Pretty confident they're separate teams.

Sure they are the same company who centrally funds all this work though and in the end their major franchises are Fallout and Elder Scrolls. They have a history of bugs and optimisation issues and relying on the community to fix their games.

You only need to look how the community has needed to fix issues in many of their games - everything from performance to quests not working properly.

They are more worried about monetising community mods and VR whilst there are still issues with games.

Compare that to CDPR and it is telling and I am not even a fan of the Witcher series.

Why can't they just fix their games first before moving onto the next best thing??

But in the end they won't do anything so its a moot point.
