Sigh... I still think they'd make more money with a single mini/micro console thing and having single games sold separately.
Atari are going up their own backside a bit aren't they, though, with this "new listening experience"...?
I get a bit like Saracen over certain marketing terms ("by gamers, for gamers") and how everything these days is an "experience". Dining experience, driving experience,
An experience is an actual event (not a minor occurrence) that happens to or involves you, from which you gain or derive some kind of knowledge or mastery from being present.
Going to war is an experience.
Spending a year learning a trade is an experience.
Slaying a dragon single-handedly is (and earns you lots of) experience.
A slightly thicker sheet of loo roll does not make for "the ultimate toilet experience", like the adverts suggest... neither does sticking a pair of laptop speakers to the inside of a hat brim and charging (I assume) PC World prices for an Etsy newbie product...
I shall not be buying the Atari Asshat and I can't believe they didn't even think up a better name for it!!
Cor, it must be Friday....
OMG, that hat.....what a load of tat
I quite like the idea of a mini N64 given my fond memories of the original system... However I'm quite sick of Nintendo's business practices and the way it treats its customers so probably won't bother trying to get one, not that I would reasonaly be able to get one anyhow as it purposely limits supply.
Atari really are clutching at straws.
After the complete disaster that was Roller Coaster Tycoon World they are now back with just another pc clone with an Atari hat on by the looks of it and a real Atari hat which would have been better if it was released in the 80's
They should just release a 'SNES 64' that can take all 3 controller types, have a handful of stock games included, then have a library where the games are $1 or £1 each. They'd make a killing!
doesn't make any sense. Trade mark cintrollers AFTER release (in the case of Nes and Snes)
This is much more likely controllers for mobiles (possibly Switch)
N64 mini, that will keep the scalpers fed for a bit longer.
Next step after the mini N64 is a Wii Mini.
Or just do both as they are :) They will make a fortune from these dedicated devices that bring a lot of nostalgia..but then will make even more by selling the same games on the Virtual Console for the switch later this year. I'm probably going to buy a SNES mini at some point, but i'm also going to re-purchase Mario Kart on the switch as they are adding online multiplayer to a number of SNES games, inc Mario Kart.
Ninty can have the best of both worlds and (it seems) we're happy to pay them for it. Some of us anyway ;)
Why can't Nintendo just make an actual classic console which covers the NES to N64 and then sell game packs you could run on it via SD cards or downloads?? You could even have different shells, etc for it?
I'm still disappointed with how few games are available on the "mini" versions. I have more choice by pulling the old SNES out of it's box and using a SCART to HDMI adaptor.
