I guess one reason would be the fact that it forced the reviewer to use low profile DDR3 RAM... limits the RAM choice from an enthusiast POV.

I don't think this can be the reason, Corsair DDR3 Vengeance is hardly low profile and is easily available at 1866 speeds. The triple channel XMS3 i have on my X58 is the same height and running comfortably at 2150 at 1.68v. If it needed actual blade server like low profile memory, then yes this would be a severe set back to enthusiast speeds, but just no spiky bits?? sounds bearable to me.

All we can do is correct people who misuse terms in a way that may be a detriment to the consumer.

Would be useful for a HTPC but looks too big for a mATX let alone mITX.

These are quite popular with the audio recording market at the moment who want their PC's to be as quiet as possible when recording.

Add to them the 'sandy bridge' processors and you get a seriously good audio rig with hardly any noise at all.
