For that kind of money I'd want to do it myself

I'm a little confused by water cooled systems. My initial thoughts were that they would offer big performance gains over air cooled systems and with greatly reduced noise.

However viewing systems on Hexus and Scan it seems far less clear cut. Most water cooled systems are only marginally faster than (for example) Scan's air cooled overclocks and not that much quieter than a carefully chosen air cooled system either. But the price is substantially higher, they need ongoing maintenance and can be tempramental.

Upshot - My next PC will be air cooled again.

Because the water cooled system isn't always about the speeds and is more about well...keeping your system as cool as possible and water cooling generally, as far as im aware, offers better cooling potential then air...and I believe quieter? (I don't have a water cooled system so could well be wrong)

My overclocked air-cooled Scan is practically silent. I see very little gain here apart from a transparent window and cool looking pipes. As my PC is under a desk that' pretty pointless too.
