    The 8gb is £182 on aria.co.uk

Great deal but I don't see it to be as good as it seems since I paid £200 for a 290x from aria 2 years ago

The pound was 20% stronger back then.

4GB doesn't cut it these days. You can't even have the full graphical experience on a simple game like Rainbow 6 siege without having 8GB VRAM

8GB of VRAM will make no difference at 1080p and realistically that's the resolution these cards are for.

Re: Asus Radeon RX 480 Dual OC 4GB

Why just test new cards with new models, most people are looking to upgrade so maybe test this against say a gtx 960, come to think of it Iv'e not read a review of a 1050 against a 960 yet ?... I wonder why ?
But please add more models to test against 960 / 970 ..etc these are still being bought from shops and are a big gap in your testing.

I was interested until "annoying loud fans" but it's still impressive for the price.

Just checked on Scan. It has the 4GiB model for £175 and the 8GiB model for £190. (I rounded up the prices.)

Considering the 470 still goes for between £150-£190 what is the point of a 470 at current prices?

Yet. Vram usage always goes up and its usually why I replace my card (My old 580 had plenty of 1080p grunt but the 1.5Gb was a killer). I've had a few games go over 4Gb on my 480 so I'm glad I spent a little more for future proofing.

Potentially more a refined cooler, although that depends on how well the temperatures on this card take to reduced fan speed

It depends alot on what resolution you run at is it HD or 4K, most people still have their HD monitors and see no reason to replace them... great value for the price and easy to replace later on as well.
