Re: HEXUS.reviews :: Cooler Master Cosmos chassis

I'm thinking of getting this case too but I'm worried about thermal performance. I have a MSI 8800GTS 320mb OC and its pretty hot compared to other graphics card.

My current low budget mid tower casing has a 120mm case fan at the side panel blowing directly to my graphics card and the average temperature is 64 degrees C.

Anyone of you who has this casing is using 8800GTS or a similar card that is just as hot or even hotter?
How does it perform on the cosmos?

I don't think you need to worry tbh, I tested the chassis with a 6800GT card in the review here at HEXUS and that card runs hotter than your current configuration.

Remember that the test kit we used on this chassis was extreme hardware to test the chassis to the limits known to standard configuration component performance.

Whether you have a side blowing fan the biggest problem is with the rest of the airflow in your budget case I would guess. Its a valid saying that one fan doth not make a crap case good

Hmmmmmm, didnt realise this was out yet (been on holiday) and it looks like a very intresting change from my very rattly and loud silverstone TJ05 - however it it really worth double the P182?? - i would probably pay the extra cause i prefer the look anyway but otheres opinions would be nice XD

well I'm seriously considering buying one, i know the case is designed to be quiet but 3 exhast fans, 1 intake doesn't look good to me, i know they are trying to use the negative pressure idea but IMO it doesn't work very well. also the option of a windowed side panel would have been nice

Not been able to get a HD temp yet, but if i was gona put 5hd into this case, i would buy 8cm fan and tie clip it to the 5 1/4 to 3 1/2 bay converter that just above the HD area.

I wouldn't pay double the cost of a P182. I'm sure you can make the P182 very quiet with some mods.
