    Thanks for the timely response Fraz.

    So no hope for the son of the widow... oh well, such is life.

    I just wished that this was somehow known to Dell when I called them first - I would've thought twice about forking for the Xbox - might've just as well waited for the PC version of GTA4 - the main reason I bought the whole set...

    P.S. what is the name for such a 'scaling' box - I mean the correct technical term - I tried image scaling device and nothing comes up...

    To be honest, I think you'll struggle to find an affordable external video scaler box that can upscale 1080p to 2560*1600... but I'm not very familiar with such devices. I really don't think what you want to do is going to happen, or will not be worth the hassle/money.

    One "solution" could be to sell your 3007wfp and buy a 3008wfp... but frankly, why not just buy a nice new telly?

    I'm disappointed with Dell giving you such poor information...
