| Re: Reviews - Windows 7 - Part 5: Networking, Security and Compatibility I must say that I've found all the 5 articles so far extremely helpful. I'm currently waiting to download Win7 Pro which i got as part of microsoft's student offer. I think the reason they dont include security essentials as standard is to avoid another lawsuit from the EU or even the antivirus companies. After all, who would pay for something when you can get it for free... |

| Re: Reviews - Windows 7 - Part 5: Networking, Security and Compatibility Just remember that 64 bit is a pig with driver handling. It will not let you install any unsigned drivers, regardless of whether you think you know better than the OS. You can get round it with bodges, but it's still a bit of an issue for compatibility with some third party hardware. It's a reasonable thing to stop users doing - for security - but the fact they don't even have an option for manual override is a bit silly. Last edited by Whiternoise; 22-10-2009 at 08:17 PM.. |
