    HEXUS.reviews :: AKASA Eclipse 62 chassis

    Akasa, while not the original manufacturers of the chassis, have worked with the original creators to tweak it just as they like it, engineering out any initial flaws they saw and paying close attention to the smaller details and the wider cooling performance. The width of the chassis and its modular nature afford you excellent thermal performance and ease of use. It's stylish too, the all-black aesthetic tickling my fancy. Simple to work with and open for modification and integration of any powerful system you wish to put inside, the Eclipse 62 is a stand-out chassis and one worth your consideration.

    I have to make comment about the quoted part of the article. I have the original Globalwin 61F1 case (Savrow also sell it under the SR-71 name with a resprayed front) and there is no difference, no engineering out of the flaws at all. The only difference is the logo on the front and the lack of castors which you dont mention in the review (I think). Yes they have changed the see-through side panel which is an optional extra - the globalwin one is made entirely of plexi and is only obtainable direct from Globalwin USA.

    Great case, I have one myself...as mentioned not the best looking of cases but it just quality. You can get it from various places...scan, overclockers.
    Consider getting the separate window(approx 15 quid) if you wanna show off the internals.

    Akasa Eclipse 62

    I just wanted to let you know that there is a new version of this case called the Mirage 62 and it has a front panel and a better styling, other than that it appears to be the same as the Eclipse 62.
    Retails for a little more and is available from SCAN, they also stock the silent Amber fans.

    Anyone know if the Mirage front is available on its own, for Eclipse users looking to switch? I quite fancy it.....

    OH NOES!

    Why not contact Akasa them selves, they sell all the components of the case on their own so I don't see why they wouldn't sell the front of the Mirage on it's own.

    the Mirage front panel is not available on its own, it will fit onto the Eclipse chassis, but the wiring and button positions are different so its not a practical proposition for general resale.
