damn, have been interested in one of these but reading your review here makes me think again if they have molex only and no 3 pinners, what a shame.
I suppose all the fans are 25mm and not 38mm versions? Would a 38mm fit inside one of those removable cages? EDIT:: oh and one more question, is there any air channel at all getting underneath a PSU thats mounted the 'normal' way up? (eg psu with 120mm fan at the bottom), there doesnt look like theres much/any clearance for air to circulate through the fan and out the back in the photos. Thanks a lot ![]() |

Thanks for the reply, yes it could be mounted upside down just I was wondering if it was mounted the 'right' way up whether it could breathe ok.
As for the molex only, my case already has 4x 38mm and one 25mm 120mm (not including the one in the psu) run off the pwm headers on the motherboard - these I control with speedfan to be silent when idle or using multimedia but allows it to be a roaring windtunnel when gaming or a hot summers day. Cant do that with molex fans meaning id have to replace them, but if the cages wont take the 38mms I have already then thats even more cost, which is why I thought id post and ask about the size of the 120s if anyone knows please? Its probably only 25mm but if a 38 will fit then ill be really happy - I so need a new case to house the raid properly. cheers |

i have just got this case (nothing to put in it yet tho - thats coming) had a sneak peek in the box, very nice - the fan on top is bigger then i thought it would be. very nice build quality looks like i should be able to get some cool temps on my new pc (and hopefully with min noise)

The 8800GTX should work if you got the revised version of the case. I know it's a REALLY big graphics card, but their is a lot of room verticly and horizontaly in the case, especially if you don't put a hard drive in the slot across from it.

As for the power supply, the fans don't use as much power as most people think they do. My rig has all of the fans (including the optional extra on the window) running on max constantly. Even with 5 hard drives, I only needed a 350 Watt, but I wouldn't go any less than that. The only problem is that most power supplies don't have a cpu power cord (the one that looks like a molex, except it's square) long enough to reach the motherboard. Being a cheepo, I just spliced speaker wire (yes, I used speaker wire as electrical wiring) into it by soldering. It works just fine, too (that's what I'm typing on write now).

Re: HEXUS.reviews :: Antec Nine Hundred Chassis
nope... I did a quick google and came up with a site claiming they don't ship to the UK, unfortunately... found it on sale from the nVidia US site, if you have friends / family there maybe they can ship it to you?
Nvidia Online Store - Product Information for the case itself, and Antec Nine Hundred nVidia Edition - PC Cases & Case Cooling - PC Hardware Discussion for the comment... |

Re: HEXUS.reviews :: Antec Nine Hundred Chassis
Good Day
I have to say it is a great case, I've got one at the moment and its doing wonders, but it does have a fault in its design, if your running a thermalright 120 ultra extreme as a heatsink, you cant use the 120mm fan slot on the clear side panel it just doesn't fit. Because of where the thermalright 120 sits it just covers a small faction on the fan opening which stops your from using a 120mm fan, Which i was quite unhappy about , where my vga card sits the fan spot is perfect for extra cooling(as ive o/c my graphic card), so as i've said i now cant use a extra fan I'm considering i have to get a new case just to solve this problem.Adrisis |
