As a long time Gameon lanner I can highly recommend them.
The thing that appealed to me was the friendly atmosphere. I've never been tempted to go to one of the big lans like the i series. Sitting in a room with 1000 other geeks? No thanks. I can just imagine what that must smell like after a weekend, and it seems to me thet it would be rather impersonal. Like playing online but with a better ping.
Gameon is more like taking your PC round a mates house. The difference being that there are enough people to have a decent game and the network is much more efficient. (Especially since Olly has had his hands on it.)

The LAN will start on the Friday at 4pm all the way through to 5pm Sunday.
That's the same weekend as the August meet may be! Dilemma!

The August lan is going to be a small 40 player lan, these lans for me are great as they tend to be a lot more social.
Should be a good lan for any first time GO'ers as its a good chance to get to know the staff / regulars.
And theres a rumour of a large 150 player "Touney" lan planned for october
