Hey guys...

Can all those that have been to a LAN please help me out with a few FAQ questions - along the same lines as the Social FAQ?

I've got a few days off next week so am hoping to catch up on the Admin etc which includes writing all this up!

I'm not about tonight as it's the Wednesday "Rock out" session with rock band at my mates, but I'll chip in some questions and answers.

Bring plenty of fluids, red bull etc.

Wash properly, and bring changes of clothes, no one likes smelly people.

If you've got spares, bring them, you never know which part of your PC will fail after the move.

Mark everything in UV pen with your name/postcode. Most of the people who theve things at the large lans are morons, often 14.

If it's you vs Rai 1-on-1, you get an automatic win (had to be said lol)


Make sure you get a decent PC that will actually play games (lesson learneded methinks)
If you're going to sleep at a small LAN, be wary of everyone else who isn't - especially Plat and that lot
Make sure you have a damn good time whatever the score, no one likes a sore loser (feel free to trash talk in indignation though )

make sure everything is working a week before you leave. don't format the night before and hope it works when you get there. that also goes for upgrades and o/s updates.

Sleeping

Bring an airbed or something to sleep on. If it's like last time, floor space is limited! So, first thing you should do when you get there is grab a bit. First thing I think I'll be doing this time is blowing up my airbed rather than sorting out my alcohol and drinks!

Well... yes as our boss at all these social type events, you're going to have no slack cut for you

And there was a bit of a poor performance at the start and a fair way through the rest of the weekend too

Yeah, LAN's are all about the fun and frollics

Who cares if you have a negative kills to death ratio as long as you enjoy the company your with and the games your playing.
