Tips: Take part and have fun - try new games - Socialise - tit about a bit - its a weekend of hedonism for a reason, make the most of it (but act responsibly too... there's a difference between having fun and being an irritating plonker)

There wasn't anything in particular, it was more insider stuff I was after like bring 17 pots of Pringles because the nearest shop is 8 miles away, or get in and get a sleeping bag down quick cos one end of the hall's all cold and drafty. (Cos I'm practically an old man now!)

Ahhh fair enough, well in that case, bring an extra pillow for your back, as the chairs are not that comfy after several hours, OR if you have got space bring your own

When you first turn up, nab a sleeping spot on the floor before settling in. We made that mistake at our first LAN, and was a bit cramped when trying to sleep. Think there might be a picture of what Al had to do to get some sleep!

However, the sleeping area was fairly empty at the last one. We can only assume Azreal's snoring forced most people to sleep in their cars. Madduck does it all the time. Which reminds me, get some ear plugs, unless your a heavy sleeper or used to unbelievable large amount of snoring!

It was only at the last LAN that I found the showers! Thought 4 days was pushing it a bit for not showering; 3 days I can just about get away with. Flip-flops or some other easy footwear might be an idea as the toilet block is on the other side of the car park from where we game. If you're struggling with room, then a trip to Tesco when you get there might be better than trying to bring food/booze with you. You can get plastic cups as well, although there's usually more than enough of those floating around to borrow.

Finally, if you're going to try Platinum's Legendary LAN Juice, do it on the Friday so you have some time to recover!

thats why i sleep in main hall as was bad idea to go hunting for a space @ 6am got 2 and 1/2 hour sleep 1st night and it went down hill from there

think my driver is down south so cant see him getting

I too also ventured out and found the showers, well worth it. You don't quite feel like death after a long shower.

I wouldn't bother buying food etc before hand as it just takes up valuable space in the car, and you can get it from Tesco when your there. Also worth maybe treking there with a few others and you can multi-buy and split it between you all, saving a bit.

Before the lan make sure if nothing else you UPDATE STEAM. Yes there is now a reasonable internet line there, but it would still take hours to pull anything down for the steam servers.

Also take an air-bed if you have one, otherwise something to use as a matress. After a few days if you don't you will feel broken!
