Is hexus looking for a forum mod?

    Hi

Apologies if this is not the right place to ask but was wondering whether Hexus was looking for a full-time forum mod?

    Thanks

Heh, I always thought being a mod was something the admin(s) asks you, rather than something you asked.

Certainly that was the way it happened with me. (another forum)

In order to be a mod you need to know the correct handshake and be a member of a private gentlemen's club.

Or at least that's how it happened to me..

a good user and poster will be noticed around the forums i guess, other mods may probably recommend them to the admin etc. or even the admin might watch over the posts and make their own mind up.

that was my lame attempt at being funny...

I would have guessed that too; or mods/admins would just make their mates into other mods.

Well anyway I'm not sure why people want to be mods so badly. If I was a mod, the power would corrupt me so much that I would turn to the dark side of Hexus...

at least once you've been one somewhere - it's actually quite a bit of work.
No longer can you pick & choose threads to read, you must patrol them all to make sure that everyone is getting on, keeping to the rules etc. ....

No what you get is loads of hassle off users engaged in bitching contests and regarded as heavy handed when you try and sort things out. Not that i'm bitter lol.
