Threads not jumping to new posts
As the title says, threads are now jumping to new posts for me.
It's fine if i log out and back in again, but if i hit "New Posts" again after reading what was new, threads only advance to new posts from when i logged in, not since i last read them. Any ideas? |

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
Thanks Matt
Is there extra trickery in there so that the quick reply box is always off the bottom of the screen? |

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
Do you mean is there anyway to turn the quick reply box off at the bottom?
If so, click the little button on the right of the quick reply box to minimise it. Matt |

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
Yeah i think so
![]() ibm's What brought you to Hexus? thread as an example. First time i read it was when i logged in and was going through New Posts from the oldest to newest. Obviously i hadn't read it before, so just clicked the main link. After reading that and a bunch of others, I click New Posts again. Someone had replied to the thread. So i click the "Go to first new post", but instead of taking me to this post, i'm left with the OP hard against the top of my screen. This happens a lot. I was doing it before to forum tweaks, but only now and again. It seems to be all the time now. I've started using the "Go to last post" icon next the persons name, but that means i have to scroll up a lot. Happens on a veriety of systems, Vista, XP/IE7, XP/IE6, etc. |

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
No what i mean is that whenever i go through the "Go to first new post" link and there has only been a short single reply (or a couple on my 24" at home) the top of the first new post isn't at the top of the screen. Instead i get the "« Previous Thread | Next Thread »" hard at the bottom.
This happens all the time now. Personally i find it more annoying than the adverts

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
Im not seeing that behaviour here under normal circumstances, the only time i get the sort of thing you are talking about is if I start clicking before the page has fully loaded...

Re: Threads not jumping to new posts
ooohhhhhhh i see what you mean - if you click on the latest topic on the FORUM INDEX it takes you to the top of the thread rather than the latest one.
If you are in the forum its fine. It's only affecting sub forum threads from the forum index and I reckon its something to do with vbSEO. Leave it with me I will have a look through the 4 million settings and see what i can find |
