Post Any reason why I can't post a link to a PDF?

I've tried to post a link to a PDF for the Social members, but it blanks out the code...

it's still there in the edit mode, but not when it's in display mode...

odd one... just wondering if there's a reason!

Re: Any reason why I can't post a link to a PDF?

Nope. It's because the forum is failing to get a <title></title> from the document (naturally, it is a PDF) so messes up with the auto parsing of links.

This has been brought up loads of times now. It really infuriates me that the developers didn't include about 3 more lines of code to catch this. If ever you need an example of sloppy code, this is it.

If it is easy to fix, any reason it wasn't done when this problem was raised before?

    Blank links

Oh, and there is also the problem that when you do build the URL yourself, it somtimes mangles it and you end up with no link anyway.

So if it can't find a <title> </title> then it should display the link as a default I would have thought...

    Lets wait and see

It's not a piece of code written by us so we need to get the authors to update the code base.

MD will no doubt be able to tinker and hopefully solve this.
