    Lightbulb Abbreviations Dictionary

I think we need some kind of list of all the abbreviations that people use, and their meaning. Perhaps this could go in the help section, and people can suggest abbreviations to put in there.

I'll start the list of with what I know:

    IMO - In My Opinion
LMAO - Laugh my Arse Off

What do you think - good idea or bad? I know my list isn't very big - I'm sure there are more.

I personally think this is an excellent idea - half the time I have to try and work out what people are saying when they use abbreviations!

TTIUWP - This thread is useless without pictures

That's the only extra one I can think of!

no offence intended, but i stand by what i said.

edit: oh .. and i reckon theres a limit to how much you should abbreviate things, why make trouble for people who dont understand them, when its hardly much effort to use the full sentance.

Your Mileage May Vary (ymmv) is a pretty common abbreviation, arsen, one which I've seen used in multiple forums. Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist... I suggest googling for it; you'll see Wikipedia entries, even CNET's glossary has an entry for it FFS. Google YMMV

arsen, put your toys back in the pram, you're moving the thread off topic; it asked for a list of definitions not whether it was good practice to use them or not. That goes for the rest of you as well, keep it on track please.
