| Re: Back up your vinyl with Magix Rescue Your Vinyl & Tapes Hi DataMatrix, Could you expand on your suggestion a little bit, for the benefit of this 'Numptie', i.e. what exactly do these leads connect, and do they plug into standard sockets/ports available on all PCs and Turntables? What do you then use to convert/edit/save [software and application wise] the transferred analogue data from the turntable, to then be able to burn it to CD or DVD etc or save it on a HDD as an MP3 file or any other chosen file format? Can you recommend anywhere in particular to purchase this combination of leads? Is the 'leads scenario' just as easy and versatile to utilise as the "Magix Rescue Your Vinyl & Tapes" package? All of the above questions are asked because I'm considering buying "Magix Rescue Your Vinyl & Tapes" as a Christmas present for my Brother, who isn't overly PC literate, and I can currently purchase MRYV&Ts online for £36.69. hook the phonos up to the amp output (ideally run through an amp, otherwise the signal may be a bit weak) and then the 3.5mm jack to the mic input/line in, and then any microphone recording software will do the trick, the extras that you get with the MRYV&Ts is that the software can cancel the noise out a little better, but there will be software on the internet that does it for cheaper/free... or alternatively, a funky gadget... a USB turntable  |
