    I think my next build will be without an optical drive. I can do without the clutter of CD/DVDs.

    Likewise. I virtually never use the optical drive in my machine. And I have a external slim DVD burner for when I do need to, might replace it with an external bluray drive when/if they hit the £40ish mark.
