    Connection problems in BF2142

Im havin some real trouble with 2142 atm.

I can connect and play games fine but (usually after 1 or 2 games) now and then i get 'your connection with the server has been lost' and then whenever i try to connect to a different server once this has happened, i only get about a minute or two and then it kicks me off.

Iv tried installing a seperate network card & cable so its not my crappy onboard network card or a dodgy cable that is doing it and its only with battlefield . It cant be the connection either because some of my other friends in the same halls as me have no problems

Has anyone else experienced this? If so please give me some advice?

I think im going to run a rebuild and get a new dvd r/w. i cant see it being the disk but iv had problems with my drive recently anyway.

the disk is only used to validate the install, mines now a mounted image as i dont like leaving dvd's in the drive.

i also have the same issues, normally make 3 rounds or 4 then it starts kicking me off until i reboot.

i have not found a fix, but now i know its more than one of us maybe we can.

dont use norton internet security do you ?

i just thought maybe if the disk stopped reading it may unvalidate adn lose connection or something. I did think it only really checked it during the load of the game but it was a last chance of a desperate man

I use NOD32 internet security. I CBA with firewalls or anything all of them are disabled.

Maybe its something to do with the EA server?

must be then. i use norton for virus and firewall. as your not using that we can rule AV and firewalls out.
i am behind a router, but it is set to forward all ports to my PC so thats not the issue.

annoying thing is the 1.20 patch has not fixed it.

i think my problem could have been sharing folders on msn but it could be any number of things tbh because i was fiddling last night.

    1. on the network card configure advanced tab i set the 'optomise for' bit to throughput rather than CPU

    2. Switched off x-fire and msn

    3. I also changed my speakers. Now i know ur thinking how can this make a difference but before the sub was near the connection so the magnet might have been causing a magnetic field and interfering (unlikey as im pretty confident is shielded)

And it didnt kick me off...

Il try again today and see what happens
