How would that thing work? If you turn your head to the right or left, you'll lose sight of the monitor.....

If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

it translates a very slight turn of the head into a big mouse movement... so you turn your head say 20 degrees and the view on your screen is looking out of your back window....

Ahh, still think it would be slighty weird...

I'm one of those who leans with planes as the bank left or right, and turns into corners on driving games. It'd be no good for me, I'm all over the place!

Just make sure the webcam is active at the time then we can all see you blow your head off!

Surely a simple battery operated system would work better, and be safer?? you only need 1 or 2 AAA cells and a resistor...

i aint faffing about with batteries and resistors ,not yet anyway

at the moment i am just pointing a green 5mm led which is hooked upto my download box at the webcam from about 50cm and after a bit of tweaking i have it moving left and right quite nicely although i havent got it to move up and down very well yet

just about to try a orange led to see if thats better

1 thing is it uses hardly any cpu resources so wont slow the game down

give me an hour and i should have a track-ir for free (just need to gsv to reappear so i can really test it )

right I tried it... th tracking is quite good, although t needs serious tweaking - but i had a big problem where it runs for about 3 minutes, and then stops. Completely. oh well... I don't like it anyway - i can't keep my head still enough....
