...mainly due to Zak's thread about gaming moments,

so i was wondering if anyone was up for a flight sometime soon.

Is anyone up for this weekend? or sometime next week?

Probably not Sunday night, but other than that, I'm sure Zak and I will be around (although may not be able to fly much past 11pm...!)

actually....Sat night might be ok.

We need to decide on voice comms AND make sure they work. Dont want the faff we had last time.

Team Speak is still best....but can actually use Skype if we need too.

OK...I just sussed Team Speak Server

and my quad core can run that stood on it's head. My broad band should be man enough too.

So I think we can do Teamspeak.,....does everyone have it?

I'd like to try it one night before we even think about playing...NEED it stable for everoyne, save hours of heart ache!

teamspeak server is up and running

If anyone wants to play over the next few days, i'll give you the IP and pass for the server so you can log on tonight, to make sure that it works for everyone, as last time we spent more time faffing around with voice comms than we did flying.

Silly question, but does anyone think TeamSpeak is considered VOIP? The only reason I ask is that I can't get a BT line here (they've ran out of lines and won't be 2-3 months before they lay some more!), so I am connecting over my mobile with T-Mobile. Haven't tried gaming with it yet, but the contract states that I'm not allowed to use VOIP with it. I am assuming it means Skype rather than TeamSpeak though...

Anyway, assuming that works and the lag isn't terrible, I might be available this weekend.

Well, I just quickly tried joining a server and it seemed pretty OK. It transfered the mission pretty quickly (I can actually get 40k/sec on this connection) and it was OK in game. Couldn't actually check my ping (forgotten how to), but I was getting 5-6 green bars in the top right. This was without TeamSpeak running at the same time, so it might be a little slower on the night.

I'll be around all weekend, but won't be able to do late Sunday night (gotta get up at 6am the next morning).
