Re: CoD4
Excellent games last night. Couldn't get some of the guns moggle suggested cos I'm not high eough lvl, and I find the online leveling experience ...weird. But it's damn clever.
If I were to keep to one gun, and use it as much as possible I'm more likely to prgress in that key skill area, so I did. And it paid off, because I went up a couple promotions and importantly, I gained new kit for the guns. I also sussed the PERKS sections. For those wo don't know... wehn I create a class of character (al my own choice, 5 blank ones to use, over and over) not only are weapons chosen, but PERKS. These varty from extra health, extra sprinting endurance, extra bullet accuracy and extra bullet penetration (my mate loves that, fiting through walls to kill people) But also a skill where, when I die, so long as the bloke stops shooting me, I get a few seconds where I automatically draw my gun ad can aim and shoot back. Works wonders! Someone else seemed to always drop a grenade when he died, automaticaly, and I got mullered by that a few times. Clever clever game. There must be some immense perks later on, on higher lvl, cos I'm only just starting and I think these are good. I noticed that if you choose sniper guns, you tend to get additional camo.... I think that's what I saw. Blokes that looked like moss mounds. But I never got it myself. Maybe it's a perk. Dunno, not clear. But the magic (you always enjoy games more when you succeed ) was fimnding a domination map with 8 people in, the two of us joined it, and keeping apace, and finaly owning ![]() And we did really well. Good comms (mega hours playing Lineage 2 on comms I guess) Was superb ![]() |

Re: CoD4
If you pick a sniper weapon as your primary weapon, you get the ghillie suit. Whether you get it when you pick it as secondary weapon, I am not sure (you can just swap it around in that case). Note, you need the Overkill perk to use 2 main weapons.
To be honest, you will see people use the same handful of perks all the time. Snipers will usually have claymores as their first perk; beginners use RPGs. Later on, extra grenades is popular for spamming them. Most people will use either Stopping Power or Juggernault as their second perk, occasionally you'll get someone use a UAV Jammer. Hate when people use the Last Stand perk, and someone else gets your kill! Martyrdom works very well on close quarter battles (Vacant, Shipment, Wet Work). Deep Penetration works best with LMGs and sometimes Snipers. Personally, when I was working upto Lvl 55, the best way is to stick with a weapon in a class until you get the 150 kills. You get 3 XP bonuses (100, 500 and finally 1000) and the add-ons. However, I never bothered with snipers on the PS3, as the maps didn't generally suit my sniping ability (kill cam and the fact the teams rotate around the map usually, rather than holding and end). Check out the various challenges as you unlock them and modify a class or two to help you complete them. Eg, using a silenced weapon, or killing people who are stunned or flashed. Misery Loves Company is an amusing one to try and do! |

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt; then it's bloody hilarious!

Re: CoD4
Do you mean you can search in game? if so, HOW?? and while I'm asking daft questions, in the "Join Server" window, in between the game typ and ping columns, there's a row of 5 or so options that the game's running... Know ye the legend of these icons?

Re: CoD4
How about we start a CoD4 league? Teams of 3 or 4 depending on how many people are interested.
Hmm... I might make a new thread... anyone interested? We can have a fixed time once or twice every week where we play matches. If someone can't make it then someone else can substitute in (but you can only have 2 substitution per month or something) Of course we would need to get hold of a server from somewhere though... If there is enough interest I'll draft out some rules and into a new thread.. |

For example it's not running modified or custom maps. The green tick one I have no idea and they make it bloody hard to find out as there's no information on the legend and I have to derive all this from using it myself. If you do find out what the tick it do let us know. I'm up for a CoD4 mini pc tournament. |
