How to make a Time Demo in CoD4

    Welcome Soldiers.

Many of you will want to use CoD4 to run a Benchamrk, expecially if you're about to get or borrow a new video card.

Here's how to make your own custom Benchmark/Timedemo and how to run it.
Make sure you can open the console within the game (it's an option in the menu)

Join a multiplayer game, preferably one you like and know.

    1) Press ~ to open console.
    2) type this /record MYDEMO-150409

you can change MYDEMO-150409 to whatever you want.

    so I used /record ZAK33FIRSTGO
(don't use spaces in the name)

Play for several minutes.. the size of the file shows "in game" so dont be shy. I played for 3 minutes, and its my style of game play, so relevent to ME.

Leave the server and the recording will finish automatically.

The demo is then created in a file that is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
    It's in Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos

    Copy demos folders into
    Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\ModWarfare\demos

you gotta trust me on this

Then boot game, choose MODS, and then the game with reload as Mod Warfare, and then
bring down console with ` key
    and type timdemo thenameofyourdemo

You'll find it tried to autocomplete it for you. Carry on typing, hit return when done.

    The time demo will run

When finished (it's gonna be a long demo, done as fast as possible by your PC) press SHIFT and the ` key together for the extended console and scroll right down to bottom of text file, and look for FPS

    And that's your average FPS

Now change card or settings and do it again.

Nothing wrong with being sneaky, at least you weren't running around with dead silence on

I've no idea how you can use the UZI though I really can't aim with that

I often DO use Deadsilence, with a silenced Uzi and UAV jammer.

I love the Uzi, BECAUSE I can't aim when I'm up close. Spray and Pray

An Uzi, on Hardcore, will take people out from a fair way.

But I agree, I'm a silenced M4 man most of the time.

Hence that weapon in the latter part of the demo with Claymores

You're everything that my regular server's players hate

I rarely see those weaps as I'm more of a Search and Destroy player. Still was good to see the demo.

Oh yes the command to see your fps is /cg_DrawFPS 1

Set /com_MaxFPS to something like 250 as well so you can see where the fps maxes out in your demo/timedemo and after that set your maxfps back as some servers don't like if you use 250 fps and may kick you.

I can only play fast if I've had 3 gallons of black coffee, and played for 6 hours straight. I'm just not fast enough for the bunny hopping, super strafers.

As you can see from the time demo, when I come out of the stair well, into the open, nose to nose with a bloke who simply out strafes me.

Happens a lot. Tbh I prefer it when people tell me to stop it... then I know I'm getting on theirt tit's, just like their bunny hopping antics do my head in.

Yeah that's annoying too. Funnily enough I never used to bunny hop when I had no idea what it was, then when it was explained to me I just can't stop the habit of pressing that space bar when running about.

Maybe it's the evil inside me doing that
