    Re: R.u.s.e

It's quite interesting; WWII RTS with the twist being the titular "ruses"; you can camouflage your units, send spies to find enemy units or use decryption to see enemy orders, place decoy bases, that sort of thing. Haven't fully got to grips with those yet, I've only played a few online games; as the Brits (of course) I've been favouring an air-heavy strategy of Spitfire air superiority covering Typhoons and Lancasters taking out enemy units and bases, but I need to work on my Plan B for opponents with massed anti-aircraft batteries.

Definitely worth a look while it's in public beta.

    Re: R.u.s.e

I've played the beta but found that it had too much consolitis. Unit types are extremely limited, movement and attack options are very limited or non existent.

    Re: R.u.s.e

I gave it a try the other day. Was a little disappointed. the gamer certainly has potential, but at this stage I found it to be a case of whoe can build the quickest wins. I felt very rushed playing as there was no time for stategic movements.

I might revisit in the future but at this stage the game will stay closed.

    Re: R.u.s.e

Couple of things I've picked up so far:
    - Use the "camouflage nets" ruse right at the start to hide your bases, or they're vulnerable to air strikes or long range artillery
    - Build anti-air units really, really quickly; some opponents will try a paratroop rush, and you can never have too much AA later on

The start of games can be pretty hectic, especially if one or more opponents are trying a rush of some sort, but if you can weather the initial storm things tend to settle down a bit.

    Re: R.u.s.e

I've been playing this for a while now on the BETA and I'm finding the more I play, the more I like it

I've found using the 'rush' ability on the area your base is in and then the next square with the 2 supply depots ensures you get funds quickly so you can build more defenses and setup a nice line 1/2 way across the map.
